As I’ve mentioned, I have sensitive skin. It’s a skincare brand that always pops up on Instagram and they have their fair share of hyped-up skincare products. This is a tinted physical sunscreen that provides UVA/UVB protection. The decision to pass has nothing to do with my oil preference and everything to do with the price. BUT be warned. Drunk Elephant reviews hype the brand, but is it worth it? It can be tempting to pass on this product because of the price alone. Drunk Elephant's specific formulation also has what the brand calls a "reservoir effect," meaning it stays active on the skin for up to 72 hours (even after you wash your face). If you want to skip to the verdict, I share if you should purchase or pass on the product. It's a whole hype around this brand and they've been growing and growing and have become a huge success with a cult following! 9 Best Drunk Elephant Products Worth Your Money If you’ve been shopping around for skincare products recently, there’s a good chance you’ve come across Drunk Elephant. If your skin can handle the high percentage of acids, this would be a purchase. Drunk Elephant Marula Oil: Worth It Winner? I avoided my cheek and upper lip area which are the most sensitive parts of my face. As I try more products from the line, I will update this post. Before we dive into the products, let us have a bit of a history lesson. Now I can leave the product on for the entire recommended time. However, this is something that I would wear all day so I had to quit using this product. This is a very gentle cleanser with a clear thin jelly-like constancy. After using the greatly raved The Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream I broke out. It is a strong peel. I loved this vitamin C serum because of the L-ascorbic acid which is the golden standard of vitamin C. It is well known  L-ascorbic acid is unstable, especially when it is exposed to the air. I am okay with warmth or tingling when a product is on my face for a short amount of time. I’m not 100% convinced they work the way skincare companies say they do. @isavfdz Drunk Elephant is definitely worth it! Now, this is my most favourite product from Drunk Elephant, this is the only pure Vitamin that has not irritated my skin. I love it, plan to repurchase, and still recoil from the price tag. Specifically their serums and moisturizer. The verdict: It depends. I’m not the type to buy skin care kits – I like to have complete control over my product selection – but the cute packaging and exceptional customer reviews of the Drunk Elephant Acid Trip kit convinced me to step outside my comfort zone for the first time. Okay, so Drunk Elephant is coming to the UK (and, therefore, at least before Brexit, it will be easily shippable to the whole EU) and I couldn't be more excited!! As someone that suffers from uneven skin texture, acne scars and pits, and dullness, this was a product I wanted to try. You could probably find more effective products with half the price tag. My thing with drunk elephant is that they aren’t helpful and informative. You get a good amount of product for the price. However, I found an alternative. Why not opt for Glossier Jelly Cleanser for only $22 USD for  177ml or why not opt for the original simple cleanser? I have deep wrinkles under my eyes, but my wrinkles didn’t get away. This is a product that I would recommend to everyone. Drunk Elephant uses a lot of actives in their skincare like vitamin c, glycolic aid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, enzymes, peptides, retinol, niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, ceramides, etc. The Hype is REAL. Enough with the Negative Nancy, because my skin absolutely loved this moisturizer. Enough said. I hope this Drunk Elephant post helped you understand why the hype around them is so real! PS. As for the majority of their products, Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream, Drunk Elephant Beate No 9 Jelly Cleanser and Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye cream I didn’t see much difference after using it. But I know that marula isn’t my oil of preference. This serum uses a mixture of B5, pineapple ceramides, Niacinamide, and other fruits to help hydrate the skin and even out the skin tone. Yes, if you do have sensitive skin it is best to avoid fragrance, essential oils, and chemical sunscreens. Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream. I have bought several products from Drunk Elephant, mainly because of all the rave reviews.After trying out a lot of their products, I think I can finally tell you if it is worth the price.. The verdict: Purchase it. I have both eye creams but I like Shaba better than C-Tango. This sunscreen utilizes zinc oxide as a physical sunscreen. BUT all of their products are worth trying upon launch because 1/3 times or so you find a gold mine! At first, I applied it directly to the skin after cleansing. But my personal beauty editor top picks are the two below. I would definitely slowly get into it if you have never tried a peel before. High in critical antioxidants and rich in omegas 6 and 9, marula oil helps to moisturize the skin. Cetaphil Gentle cleanser ~$10 for 473ml. You would probably think “A layer of “plastics” that has no holes.” If you ever used a silicone mat before, you might have noticed that after using it, it becomes oily and is somewhat hard to wash off. I also tried mixing this product in with some of the more intense products like the Glycolic Night Serum. That is because it is porous. Since my skin is very reactive to Vitamin C, I was careful to apply this only to the parts of my face that are able to handle such an intense ingredient. (Triethoxycaprylylsilane is the silicone they're using, but it's near the end of the ingredients list, so the concentration is very low and not worth worrying about.) Maybe). If you want an alternative I would suggest The Ordinary’s acid peel but I have never tried it before. However, any product that uses alcohol as the main ingredient it probably isn’t good/beneficial for the skin. Buy the Clarisonic or Not? The Ordinary’s L-ascorbic acid, only $6 compared to $100CAD/$80USD and since The Ordinary’s ascorbic acid is in powder form it won’t oxidize. The verdict: Purchase it. When you wash your glass bowl,  it is relatively easy to clean. My first Drunk Elephant holy grail has to be their Sukari Babyfacial AHA and BHA mask. I think their website explains their philosophy perfectly, so here is how they describe their products. As you can tell, I’m a little obsessed with Drunk Elephant. Unfortunately, I had to quit using this eye cream as it made my under eyes dry and flakey. The thick treatment is made from glycolic, tartaric, lactic, citric and salicylic acid. This eye cream is white with a smooth consistency. In addition to the acids, the treatment also contains hydrators like niacinamide and marula oil. Instead of weekly, I only this treatment twice a month. When I tried the tinte, it made my skin feel hot but did not turn it red. It uses coconut and cantaloupe to gently remove makeup and cleanse the skin. I looked at many YouTube videos today and many people seem impressed but I wanna hear other opinions because $$ ... That being said, there are some products that are more worth the hype than others. While there are so many different oils to pick from on the market, Drunk Elephant’s Marula Oil, while not cheap, is truly worth it for its price. Now I think of Drunk Elephant as an ingredient-elimination philosophy for a total skin reset. After only a few days of use, my skin was glowing and I did not even feel the need for additional serums, creams or treatments. However, if you want more coverage from the tint, it is a pass. In fact, with every usage skin texture improved, acne scar faded away, skin looked even-toned and healthier. There is one thing that Drunk Elephant got going for it. Plenty of them. Overall, Drunk Elephant has some great basic products that eliminate the most common irritants such as like fragrance, essential oils, and chemical sunscreen.
