If you don’t like oil cleansers and balms that leave a residue on your skin, don’t get this. I found if I used Protini less frequently (like once every few days), I wouldn’t get the raised bumps. It doesn’t fully rinse off with just water. As I mentioned, I found the Beste No.9 Cleanser to be too strong for my skin. Protini is formulated at the ideal pH of 4.0. Abundant with proteins and nutrients, it replenishes and restores your skin back to a strong, healthy state. Even though it gave my skin an orange tinge, I continued using it. If you are looking for a product to truly nourish and moisturize your lips, and easy to apply, there’s so many better options. You could do some research and find great less expensive alternatives but if you're interested in testing the waters with these two, for your skin type I would suggest the Tatcha Deep Cleanse and the DE protini polypeptide cream as a cleanser and a moisturizer. Something about the packaging, active ingredients, and their ethos of using ethically sourced, “non-toxic/non-questionable” ingredients – definitely draws you in. But because I get tiny bumps and even milia from the coconut alkanes, I wouldn’t repurchase it. @isavfdz  I completely agree with the other comments about getting either in-store samples or trial sizes of different items. Since they don’t contain fragrance, dyes, drying alcohols or essential oils; they’re less likely to cause additional reactions or sensitivity. Once I stopped using the product, within a week my skin was smooth again, and didn’t look porous. The Drunk Elephant Serum is more expensive than that of The Ordinary. I applied it to dry lips, morning and night. Especially if it’s giving me blackheads, enlarged pores, porous texture, and an orange hue to my face. I started with using 1/10 of a pea size amount, and mixed it with a moisturizer (I liked mixing it with Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm Cream). But using Umbra Sheer on my body was also irritating, left the purple cast, and used in large amounts it has a strong medicine scent (even my husband asked me why I smell like medicine!). I had a lot of bad reactions to their products. It does a good job at cleansing my skin, but I didn’t find it very effective removing eye makeup like mascara or eyeliner (you’d have to use a makeup remover or oil for that). Drunk Elephant Protini cream retails for $68.00. It felt luxurious without being overbearing at all. If you’ve been intrigued with the Drunk Elephant brand but don’t want to shell out $68.00 for a face cream, there might be a dupe worth exploring.
